NXW secures partner to globally manufacture Marine Whey
Nutrition from Water (NXW) and Jiangsu Jiangshan Pharmaceutical (JSPC) today announced a strategic partnership to scale production of NXW’s marine microalgae nutrition platform using JSPC’s large-scale fermentation infrastructure. The collaboration will accelerate the commercialization of Marine Whey™, enabling NXW to bring affordable, scalable nutrition to global markets significantly earlier than previously planned.
Formerly owned by DSM, JSPC has a long track record of incubating and scaling industrial biotechnology ingredients and works closely with its sister companies, including the International Vitamin Corporation (IVC) -one of the world’s largest nutraceutical manufacturing networks- and Jland Biotech, a global leader in recombinant extracellular protein production.
Together, this ecosystem enables JSPC to deliver comprehensive product solutions for global health and wellness markets.
Marine Whey™ is a complete, natural, non-GMO protein produced via fermentation from microalgae, offering similar nutritional functionality to dairy proteins while enabling significantly lower long-term production costs and improved sustainability.
The global partnership aims to utilize JSPC’s biomanufacturing assets to deliver thousands of tones of Marine Whey™ and microalgae-derived functional ingredients over the coming three years.
